Autobiography of Mr. Shamblin
I am a graduate of Cuyahoga Community College with an Associate of Arts Degree. I graduated Magna Cum Laude and missed Summa Cum Laude by mere percentage points. I then transferred to Cleveland State University and majored in Elementary Education. I graduated from Cleveland State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education 1-8 and I am fully certified in the state of Ohio to educate students in all subjects and grades 1-8. My honors at Cleveland State University included being on the deans list and becoming a lifetime member of the golden key national honors society. I then went back to Cleveland State University for graduate school and finished and graduated with my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Educational Technology. Cleveland State University also recognized me for the prestigious Pi Lambda Theta International Honor Society and Professional Association in Education which I am a dedicated and proud member of. During Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 at Cleveland State University, I finished a year of administrative course work and Supervision Practicum and passed my Administrative Praxis Exam to obtain my Administrative Specialist License and this allowed me to assume Administrative roles in public/private schools etc. One of my biggest accomplishments was completed in December 2009 at Cleveland State University when I finished with my Educational Specialist Degree in Administration (above a Master's Degree) with an emphasis in Curriculum, Instruction and Professional Development. In addition to completing coursework from December 2009 with my Educational Specialist Degree in Administration, I continued to take additional classes at Cleveland State University. My coursework consisted of a mixture of both Administration and Reading classes. At the completion of Fall semester 2011, I completed both my Ohio Professional Principal License (Pre K - 9th Grade) and Reading Endorsement (K-12) along with completing 100 semester graduate hours of coursework in graduate level education courses (I believe this to be a record of some sorts at Cleveland State's College of Education Graduate Studies). A big thank you to all my professors at Cleveland State that challenged me to become the professional that I am today. I am at this time in my life a continuing life-long and dedicated learner in the field of education and my goal is to become not a good teacher/administrator but a great teacher/administrator for many years to come. In my experiences with educating students, I always enjoyed educating students at the elementary grades and I have a strong passion for integrating technology into the daily lessons. One of my many goals in education is to push all school districts to have elementary technology teachers, additional literacy teachers and technology/literacy coaches at the elementary level. Education is the means to success!

(Cleveland State University "Engaged Learning")

THE NEW CLEVELAND STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENT CENTER FINALLY OPENS, SEPTEMBER 2010!
Cleveland State University’s efforts to attract top students, recruit and retain renowned faculty, and offer a diverse selection of academic degree programs are attracting attention around the country – evidenced by the metropolitan university’s appearance on the U.S. News and World Report America’s Best Colleges 2010 list.
CSU is recognized by U.S. News in the national university category, which includes universities that offer a full range of undergraduate majors, master's and Ph.D. programs, and place an emphasis on faculty research. To determine rankings, U.S. News surveys administrators at peer institutions and also considers up to 15 other academic indicators including graduation rates, student retention, abilities of the student body and faculty resources.
Founded in 1964, Cleveland State University is a public research institution that provides a dynamic setting for engaged learning. With an enrollment of more than 16,000 students, 8 colleges and more than 250 academic programs, CSU provides a hands-on learning environment that connects students, ideas and real-world experience.

"This recognition is important for CSU and a testament to the talented faculty and staff, who often do not get the recognition they deserve," said CSU President Ronald Berkman. "I'm proud of what we've accomplished in the past year, and I am looking forward to continuing our mission to ensure that students are successful in completing their degrees in a timely manner and transitioning to their careers."
Many statistics are used to determine the America's Best Colleges list. Since 2000, applications for first year students at CSU have increased 89% while enrollment grew 17%. All academic indicators for first year students have increased as well, resulting in improved ACT scores, high school GPAs and class rankings. First year retention rates also have improved while the University became significantly more selective in admitting new freshmen over the same period. For fall 2010, nearly 40% of the incoming freshmen class at CSU will receive an institutional merit-based scholarship, speaking to the improving quality of students attending the University.
Other criteria include helping students toward career fulfillment, which speaks to CSU's New Pathways Program, which is a scholarship-based co-operative and internship program that prepares CSU students for jobs with local employers.
Other enhancements to the CSU mission over the past year include the formation of a new division of Enrollment Services and Student Affairs, designed to proactively help students with academic success, ensure graduation and guide them to career fulfillment.
In addition, the University received a $6 million donation designed to provide scholarships to students with financial need and successfully expanded its unique program to assist returning veterans' transition to University life.
